It has become increasingly prevalent, in recent years, to support our troops and to say, “Thank you for your service.” But, despite what many people would regard as a commonplace piece of patriotism, there are some members of our military who would be puzzled at being greeted with such gratitude and respect – specifically, any members of the U.S. Army stationed and serving at Camp Swampy. And that’s especially the case for a certain private soldier who is forever taking naps, shirking work, straggling along in the rear, and generally being a perpetual lazy, slack, feckless, inept, and insubordinate goof-off. But this soldier also deserves our gratitude: he may not exactly protect our liberty, but he does protect our sense of humor.
